Signed original silkscreen (serigraph) by legendary Scottish modern artist, Alan Davie. The piece entitled “IV” is signed in pencil by the artist and numbered 40/175. Housed ins a simple metal frame with glass. Born in 1920 in Grangemouth, Scotland and recently deceased April 5, 2014 in London, England. Mr. Davie was a prolific artist inspired by the spirited works of American post-war painters such as Jackson Pollack and Mark Rothko. Davie himself is said to have influenced many important artist including David Hockney. Davie’s works are part of the collections of esteemed institutions including the Tate Collection and The National Galleries of Scotland.
