Vintage 1950s king size teak platform bed made in Germany. Privately imported by the original owner. Spectacular sight to behold, this blows any Danish teak bed out of the water. Superior craftsmanship with absolutely no particle board or dowels found in Scandinavian platform beds. Built in floating nightstands on both sides of the bed. Atomic age “v-shaped” sculpted foot rest, solid teak round tapered legs. One look and you can tell… this ain’t your average bear. The bed comes with the original coil box springs recessed into the frame allowing your mattress to sink in, while being supported. Attached to these springs are the original tags from the shipping company from Berlin, Germany to the USA — amazingly intact after 6 decades! King size bed is actually meant to hold two twin mattresses — the interior space is not long enough to hold a true king mattress. This is an heirloom piece, the cherry on your Mid Century Modern collection. In excellent condition with no notable flaws.
