Description
Vintage 1950s sofa settee (love seat) with solid blond wood frame. Similar in style to pieces produced by Heywood Wakefield, Conant Ball and Rway. All top tier manufacturers of the atomic age. This piece is unmarked, but there are tell tale signs indicating exceptional quality. Solid birch wood frame is a rarity in American retro furniture. Seat cushions are coil spring, Marshall Unit… used only in the finest furniture. Screw holes are inset with solid wood and joints are air tight after all these decades. Supports underneath cushions are metal springs, the ultimate in durability. This piece was recovered in the 1960s or 1970s, the label was likely lost at this time. Note the 1″ diameter solid wood, round rails that form the back rest. Olive green tweed upholstery is clean and true to the period. A lovely authentic vintage piece to complete your seating arrangement. This sofa pairs nicely with our Geometric Joe chair, Conant Ball end tables, or teak living room tables.
