George Nelson for Herman Miller Steelcase Group Chests

Pair of three drawer chests from George Nelson’s “Steelcase Group” for Herman Miller. Vintage 1955/1956. Original finish with light gray drawers and white enameled steel frame. Both chests feature their signature oval loop hardware pulls. Drawers are painted wood floating within the steel frame. Exterior walls of the drawers form the body of the chests. Black laminate tops have an etched grid pattern on the surface. Back sides are finished allowing the chests to be placed off the wall or used as room dividers. These chests were intended to be modular. Push them side by side to create one long dresser. Even use them as large nightstands at your bed side or supplementary storage in an office or living space.
