Description
Just look at the matched pattern grain drawer fronts on this early Danish highboy. The fiery cathedrals cover all 7-drawers and showcase the use of the natural elements to compliment the Scandinavian design. This chest is an exemplary specimen of Danish cabinet making. Tightly dovetailed drawers, beautiful teak wood and easy gliding drawers are hallmarks of the superior craftsmanship. There is no particle board anywhere. Instead we see solid pine wood, covered in thick teak veneer. The fit and finish are superb.
Decades of rich patina has turned this teak to an almost burgundy color. Not to be outdone, the carved, recessed oval pulls are yet another shade darker. The maker used an additional specimen of solid, tawny teak to create the pulls. The overall combination of tones is stunning.
