Together, these two monumental Romweber pieces create a striking executive office suite rooted in 1970s American luxury and craftsmanship. Crafted in richly figured burled Carpathian elm with gold-toned metal accents, the desk and credenza balance glamour with the kind of functionality expected from high-end executive furnishings of the era. The deep chocolate tones of the wood are highlighted by polished gold-colored handles, trim, and bezels, giving both pieces a refined presence without feeling overly ornate.
These matching pieces came from the same executive office and were designed to work as a cohesive environment. Romweber, the respected Indiana manufacturer known for producing some of the finest American case goods of the 20th century, built furniture to exceptionally high standards. The beautifully burled old-growth wood seen here reflects a level of material quality that is increasingly difficult to find today.
The executive desk is impressive in scale and thoughtfully designed for practical daily use. Finished on all sides, it features three pull-out writing surfaces, one at the back and one on each side, expanding the workspace when needed. A long center drawer with an integrated organizing tray keeps essentials neatly contained, while two shallow upper drawers provide convenient storage. Two deep locking file drawers accommodate modern organizational needs, and one original key is included.
The matching credenza continues the same clean, architectural design language while offering excellent storage. Two drawers sit on the left and two on the right, while the center section opens into a large cabinet compartment concealed behind what appears to be additional drawers. The lower drawers on both sides function as full filing drawers, a feature rarely found in pieces of this style. The back is fully finished, allowing the credenza to float beautifully within a room.
Attention to detail is evident throughout both pieces. Substantial, elegant, and highly functional, this Romweber suite captures a level of craftsmanship and material quality that is rarely seen in contemporary office furniture.

The desk includes one key for the locking file drawers.
Desk: Very good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use, including minor scratches and small nicks to the wood and gold-toned trim/base. One drawer handle has been replaced with a nearly identical example that differs slightly from the originals.
Credenza: Very good vintage condition. There are a few minor marks on the top, legs, doors, and back. There is no key for the locking file cabinets. The drawers are unlocked.
