Description
Lovely pair of sultry red tinted mahogany nightstands from the 1940s. Produced at the cusp of the popular turn to Modern design. These nightstands exhibit charming details from both schools of design. You have the sharp, clean edges and boxy base from Bauhaus inspired theory. Sexy curved edges and striking tones of black and natural wood, with a splash of glam via lacquer finish from the Art Deco age. These tables are timeless. Place them next to your contemporary bed, they will shed decades. Sculptural in form, these are a striking compliment to any bed. The previous owner had these tables refinished a few years ago — giving the lacquer finish a fresh, almost liquid appearance.
Excellent vintage condition. Small patched veneer on back, bottom, corner of one nightstand. Each nightstand has 3 scuff dots visible under certain angles. (see photos).
