Vintage 1960s Asian Modern coffee table. Inspired by works from Michael Taylor (Baker) and James Mont. Springing from the jet-set age and fascination of the exotic. This solid wood frame exhibits traditional geometric shapes found in Chinese or Japanese objects and architecture. Paired down to fit minimalist Bauhaus theory. Luxury is not spared. Wood frame has rich honey tone. Top surface is a thick slab of cream colored Italian marble. Table is in fantastic condition. No scratches or damage to the marble. Wood base has no significant wear. Fine attention to detail can be seen in the seamless transition of marble to wood frame. No lip, no dip… a fluid flow of marble to wood.
