Description
Layers of seat covers were peeled back to reveal the original green fabric on these time capsule chairs. It is quite a lucky strike to find the original fabric in excellent condition. Over the decades the owners updated the seats with new fabric, simply covering what was there before. The original fabric was subsequently preserved beneath the layers like a true archeological relic. The chairs are a testament to 1960s Scandinavian design — they quite closely resemble Koefoed Hornslet’s “Eva Chair”, but the chairs are unmarked. They could be American, they could be Danish. The walnut wood and arm sculpting hints to America, despite the distinctively Danish silhouette. Dramatically tall backs lend support and visual grace. The set consists of one chair with arms, and five armless chairs. The kiwi green seats will certainly delight Mid-Century purists. This set stand as a lovely focal point to any dining arrangement. We have several dining tables that would work well these chairs, sold separately. Inquire if you are interested in a matching table.
