Description
Mixed media painting pencil signed by the artist, “Venezia”, “S. Firak.” The image was presented by the Harris Strong gallery with label on reverse. Framed and matted, no glass or acrylic pane. The painterly image depicts a Venetian street scene as viewed from the water. Stokes of what appear to be oil crayon define the gestural strokes of oil paint on paper. The image has an aquatic feel with mostly blue tones mingled with violets and gold. In fact, the gold paint is metallic, giving a shimmering quality as one might imagine the light creating a glittering reflection of water against the building.
