Authentic Poul Jensen for Selig vintage 1950s “Z Chair.” This Mid-Century Modern icon has been restored with new custom made cushions in black leather upholstery. The handsome cushions are punctuated with buttons on the back and seat. Lift the seat to reveal new webbing support straps. You’ll also see the Selig emblem and “Made in Denmark” embedded in the seat frame. The vintage 1950s chair has been fully restored with a stripped, sanded and refinished wood frame, new cushions, new upholstery and support straps. This is as good as its gets for a 70 year old chair! Poul Jensen’s masterful chair is a functional work of art. One can truly appreciate the chair’s keen sculptural appeal from the profile and rear views. The angled arms and legs aren’t just about style… the pitch positions the occupant into a lounge position. Staying true to Bauhaus philosophy, form is following function.

Condition: This vintage chair has been restored. The wood frame has been stripped, sanded, stained, & finished with lacquer. The chair has new webbing & cushions. A couple of the legs have dark marks on the bottom. One of the back support pieces has a small scratch on the side. There is a lot of figuring in the wood which could possibly be seen as discoloration by some.
