Pair of restored mid century modern solid oak frame lounge chairs. Designed by W. Josephy Carr for esteemed American manufacturer, Heywood Wakefield. Stately profile with contoured high back supports embellished by gracefully turned spindles. Blade-like crescent shaped arms aid in comfort. Baring all the hallmarks of quality construction that Heywood Wakefield is famous for. The front legs are thoroughly doweled into the arms. The joint where leg meets arm creates a charming design detail as the dowel can be seen through the arm. Chairs have been restored with new cushion foam, new upholstery and new webbing support straps.
