Description
Vintage 1950s patinated bronze sculpture of the Athena on her chariot. The Greek goddess of war is depicting in action, yet calm. She is the goddess of warfare and strategy, of course such a cunning woman rides into battle confidently. The weathered look is an original, intentional effect. The designer has crafted the classical motif in a Modern silhouette… with the verdigris eluding to antiquity. The owl is present over Athena’s shoulder, and she sports a prominent helmet. Both of these accoutrements are signature elements of Athena’s iconography.
