Description
This stunning Danish made sofa by BOWA is one of the finest wood frame sofa’s we have seen from the period. Vintage early 1960s, SV.A. Madsen expands on the quintessential wood frame sofa to create something truly special. The arched arms are a unique feature seen only in work by Kai Kristiansen. The difference with Madsen’s arms are a gently turned knife edge that cuts a smart silhouette. The front apron is embellished with a gentle bow, another subtle but elegant touch. The back view delights just as much as the front with it’s unusual Grete Jalk style wide slats. Look closely where the arm terminates and meets the back. Here you’ll see brass hardware that gleams like a piece of jewelry against the dark solid walnut wood frame.
Our restoration team has brought this piece back to it’s original grandeur with new blue fabric and cylindrical accent pillows. The cushions are made of new foam and rests upon a bed of new webbing support straps. The decking is new and matches the same blue fabric on the cushions.
