Description
This Brasilia Commode / Nightstand is not only extremely hard to find, but also in outstanding condition. I would rate this a 9.5 out of 10. Designed by famous Brazilian designer/architect Oscar Niemeyer for Broyhill in the style of Danish Modern. Circa 1950s / 1960s Eames era Mid Century Modern retro furniture. Superior craftsmanship and quality. The Brasilia line of furniture is super collectible and very hard to find. American furniture manufacturer Broyhill created the Brasilia line of furniture in 1962. The furniture emulates the spirit of Oscar Niemeyer??s design, complete with his distinctive swooping curves, which are repeated in wave-shaped drawer handles and upholstery patterns. Constructed of carefully matched walnut veneer with frames of solid pecan, the extensive line includes pieces for the living room, dining room and bedroom. Broyhill??s Brasilia was sold throughout the 1960s and discontinued around 1970.
