Absolutely smashing retro 1950s teak dining set by esteemed American producer, Rway. Eliel Saarinen (Eero’s father) spent some time at Rway… perhaps this is one of his works. American manufacturer’s of the period almost never used teak. Teak was exceptional and reserved for only the cream-of-the-crop American furniture. This set comes with six dining chairs, including the captain’s chairs with arms. The dining table is huge with two large leaf inserts. Remove one or both of the leaf extensions to customize the table length to suit your space. Easily the sexiest dining set we have ever had the pleasure of offering here at Furnish Me Vintage. Take a look at the table base. Two large X’s form the pedestal base. A brass spanner braces the X legs to lend further support. This element is a nod to Paul McCobb. Table top is a tapered rectangle. Chairs are spectacular with very refined tapers and joinery. They stand as works of art. Their design blows any Danish dining chair out of the water. The teak wood is amazingly clean. So are the ivory seats of the chairs. This set is practically mint! Really, I cannot say enough good things about it. Our photos do not do justice. Table top has no scratches or damage whatsoever. White spots in the photos are glare from our overhead lights. Come see this dining set in person if you can. It is a sight to behold.
Table: 64" Long (100" max length) x 40" Deep x 28.75" High Chairs: 19" Wide (20.25" arms) x 18.5" Deep (19.5" arms) x 32" High (33" arms) (19" seat height)
Excellent, practically mint, no notable flaws. This set is clean!!!! Time capsule piece.
