Description
This tambour style Lucite serpentine coffee table base is a first for us and it’s origin and maker are unknown. Nineteen-Laties (late 70’s / early 80’s) is our best age estimate. Dozens of vertical, staggered acrylic cylinders form a winding serpent, capable of supporting a massive piece of glass if needed. Not only are the cylinders staggered in height, but in transparency too. Half of the tubes are clear and frosted, which adds to the overall cache and design. Light dances through the curve like a diamond! Two steel rods run the upper and lower spines to solidify the pillars. The base has a small amount of give, which allows the S-shape to elongate or compress.
This listing is for the Lucite coffee table base only. Subsequently, we are able to offer free shipping. The buyer can buy their own glass at whatever size and shape they desire. The amount you will save on shipping will more than cover the cost of glass.
