Breathtaking Campaign style burl wood and brass accented Drexel Heritage chinoiserie king bed headboard. Offered by Drexel from their “Avenues” line of interior furnishings. This seldom seen line is the first for us and hopefully not the last. Hollywood Regency and Asian Modern meld together beautifully in these stunning and distinct headboard. Exotic grain and flare of the burled maple. This honey colored burl with it’s organic intricacies is stylish and artistic all on it’s own. All beautifully patinated in a warm lacquer often seen on Drexel Heritage pieces.
This vintage Drexel Heritage “Avenues” king size bed headboard commands attention with its Classic elegance. Minimalist profile with some added richness exercised in subtle embellishments. The flyspeck finish was on-trend for America’s most sophisticated interiors during the 1970s and 1980s. Look closely at the wood to see small black splatter and dots. This texture detail is called “flyspeck.” We also have matching nightstands from the “Avenues” collection as well as other Drexel dressers that would compliment the headboard nicely.
Restoration:
These Hollywood Regency chinoiserie king bed headboard was purchased in excellent condition but that didn’t stop us from improving their overall appearance to outstanding. Our restoration team detailed this headboard top to bottom.
