Description
It’s true that we only present items that we personally enjoy. “Reve De Menagere” immediately captivated me with it’s brilliant red and blue hues and delightfully quaint manner. Perhaps my subconscious mind drew a connection between this image and the work of famed modern painter, Henri Matisse. The brilliant colors, whimsical illustrative style and even the subject matter seem to be heavily influenced by Matisse. Here we have a single female happily situated in what appears to be her home. Matisse often painted women, and domestic spaces. This image features architectural elements as anchors for the composition with fanciful renderings of botanical elements as a flourish.
“Reve de Menagere” translates to “dream household”. It seems to be a fitting title. For some of us, our homes represent a manifestation of our dreams… from the objects to the people within. The limited edition lithograph is numbered 203/275 and pencil signed by the artist, “Dubrowski.” The backside features a label denoting a certificate of authenticity from Collier Art Corporation. The image is housed in it’s original gold colored wood frame and covered with an acryic pane.
