We have two of these matching vintage Eames lounge / ottoman replicas with uncanny and unique history. We purchased from the original owners who actually had these commissioned while stationed overseas in Singapore in the 1970s. In hindsight, we should have asked more questions, because these replicas are really fascinating. First off, the proportions are virtually identical to authentic Eames chairs. Everything is a match, right down to the cupped, adjustable glides. The pitch, tailoring and assemblage of parts and materials are all in step with the original. This set is the closest facsimile you will find to a vintage original and a fraction of the price you would have to pay otherwise.
With nearly five decades under their belts, these aren’t beauty queens, but they have survived quite well considering their originality. Very good overall original pre-owned condition. Sturdy, solid, all parts are present and working. A few imperfections on leather. Head, back, seat and ottoman foam are in excellent shape. The armrests however have crispy foam. Walnut shell has age appropriate scratches and imperfections (see pics).
