Description
Early Danish teak Mid-Century Modern Danish tea credenza with china cabinet. Vintage 1950s/1960s, featuring graceful styling and craftsmanship throughout. The construction is exquisite, with virtually no warping or sagging after so many decades. You can set your watch to these lines. Just look at how precisely the doors shut without gaps. The drawers glide easily, while the space around their edges are so thin, you can barely fit a sheet of paper through.
This sideboard features a bounty of storage. Grasp the artfully carved recessed (coin-style) pulls of the sliding doors to reveal a spacious interior. Cathedral grain teak doors hide two spacious cabinet interiors with an adjustable / removable shelf in each section. The right side showcases a bank of stacked drawers. The top drawer is lined in green felt. Notice the matched grain pattern that transitions through the teak drawer fronts. This subtle technique is masterfully executed. This cabinet has an overall minimalist feel, but it’s nicely contrasted with a rounded overhung top edge. This more traditional element nicely incorporates a Danish Farmhouse style into an otherwise disciplined modern piece. Display your fine dinnerware, glass collection or other treasured items in the upper china cabinet. The display case has sliding glass doors with etched pulls, making it convenient to access items within. The upper display cabinet and lower credenza can be used independently or arranged together as pictured.
