Vintage 1950s Sculptured Pine dresser by Franklin Shockey. Lovely blend of Mid-Century Modern, Atomic Age design blended with rustic Adirondack look. It’s like a mix of Lincoln Logs and Danish Modern. Absolutely no particle board. it’s as if this dresser was carved out of a giant pine tree. This solid pine piece has been professionally restored by our in-house cabinet shop. The top and sides have been refinished and the drawer fronts have been detailed. The original copper / brass pulls retain their patina.Natural qualities of this wood are displayed in full glory. Note the outstanding wood knots and brilliant yellow hue of the pine. We have a pair of matching nightstands and double dresser available (sold separately). This set is a sight to behold in person.
Originally the Franklin Shockey Co. was an investment firm located in New York. In 1940 Franklin Shockey and his business partner, George Ennis, came south to purchase plywood for a small wooden item Mr.Shockey had invented. Though Mr.Shockey was successful in the furniture business he still remained very active with his investment company in New York.
