Description
A thick, heavy white / grey marble base supports this elegant gold octopus arc lamp. The sleek glossy, gilt gold metal looks classy contrasted with the stone. The fives heads are all adjustable and vary in height. Line them up in ascending order to create a stair-step arrangement or scatter the arms to create a more random bouquet, similar to a Sputnik chandelier. The spherical lamp heads themselves can also be tilted on their ball joints to direct the light. Each shade has vent slits at the top to diffuse heat, but we highly recommend using new LED bulbs to keep thing cool, bright and efficient. You can really create a theatrical lighting scheme without all the headaches of typical recessed lighting. The style is truly timeless, and the design has been seen throughout Europe and the US since the 1960’s. This vintage offering is most likely late 70’s to early 80’s. Our best guess is made in Italy.
Our restoration team replaced the original 3-way switch with a brand new unit. The brass has been cleaned and detailed. Only a few noticeable blemishes remain with some light patina and wear.
