Not your typical paint by numbers Hollywood Regency coffee table. This is over the top glitz and glam from a bygone era of bold, experimental interior decor. From afar this piece looks gold, but get close and you’ll see how nearly every inch is a wax and wane melding of gold, chartreuse, bronze and brass hues. The massive capiz / abalone shells sealed under clear resin are prominent on both tiers. The capiz iridescence and overall texture of this piece evokes thoughts of a Louisiana alligator dipped in gold.
This Hollywood Regency coffee table is a mix of molded and painted resin, gilt metal (legs), composite material (base platter), and capiz shells under clear resin. Hand written letters underneath, but we’re not certain of their meaning.
