Description
Kathleen Bridges layers cut paper to create a multidimensional world in 2D. The Florida artist cuts and snips unique shapes from her collection of heavily textured and unique papers. The artist then works like a musician, taking powerfully distinct elements and arranging them in perfect harmony. This piece is best viewed up close – There is just so much happening within the composition. Patterns collide and harmonize. In fact, the circular patterns created from negative space almost appear to be keys on a saxophone. The piece was created in 2011. The collage is housed in a matte silver frame and protected by a pane of acrylic.
