Lawrence Peabody green fiberglass wingback shell chair. Even better, it rocks! Such a unique twist of Charles and Ray Eames pioneering shell chair. Peabody’s version modernizes the familiar wingback in a clean line silhouette. The fiberglass form is surprisingly comfortable, cradling the body along it’s natural contours. Use this chair indoors or on a covered porch. The fiberglass is impervious to weather, but the chromed steel will rust if exposed to salt and water at length. In fact, rust had already accumulate along the bottom of the frame. Our restoration team scrubbed off the rust, leaving a textured black oxidized surface behind. The rusted area has been scrubbed clean and sealed with a clear coat of lacquer to prevent further wear.
