Description
Incredibly textured mid-century modern era Abstract Expressionist painting. Titled “Kaleidoscope,” the composition relies on frenetic, layered poured and dripped paint. The artist pushes his work further into the visceral realm with bits of soil mixed into the paint. The areas of grit also become more dense with pigment, an opposition to the more fluid areas of the image. It’s almost as if the painting is a storm of color, wind, water and Earth captured in state. Deep red hues dominant the painting along with teal and orange. The artist’s signature can be found in the lower right corner. The first name in unintelligible. The last name appears to be “Hofmann.” Created on canvas board. Reverse the image to see that the board says “made in Finland.”
