Description
Vintage walnut high boy dresser by American of Martinsville. Stately presence, in keeping with the forward thinking style of 1950s-1960s era American of Martinsville. No other state-side furniture maker did it better. All wood construction with sculpted oblong rounded rectangle detail on the drawer fronts. Similar in fashion to Danish creations of the era by luminaries such as Jens Risom and Arne Vodder. AOM took full advantage of the bounty of American forests. Drawers feature dovetail design with wooden sides and bottoms. Two of the middle drawers have removable vertical dividers inside. Note how the solid walnut feet seamlessly interlock and blend into the bottom base of the dresser — simply masterful.
