Stunning sunset colored mid-century modern harbor and cityscape painting. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner. The painting is heavily textured with impasto thick paint on the buildings and sailboats. The Modernist painting has an Impressionist effect. Close-up, you’ll see a melange of yellow, orange, white and brown and ochre paint seemingly slathered on in a frenzy. As you draw back from the image, like a Chuck Close painting, the colors come together to create a vibrant seaside city. It’s the best of both world’s… cityscape and seascape. Sailboats idle about in the harbor while skyscrapers stand tall in the distance. Their is even a pair of birds in the otherwise stark sky.
