Outstanding mid century modern credenza by Milo Baughman for Drexel. The rare piece is from Drexel’s “Perspective” collection, vintage 1950s. Made in America with exotic Mindoro wood from the Phillipines. Mindoro is most exquisite with a mesmerizing glittering quality. Light dances within the swirls of deep gold, caramel, and dark chocolate hues within the wood grain. The wood closely resembles mahogany, but with a distinctive gem-like quality to the coloration. The unit features a column of wide drawers at center. The top most drawer is cloth lined and has removable dividers for organizing the contents. The left and right side of the unit are both cabinet spaces with a single adjustable height/removable shelf in each side. We have several pieces from this elusive collection. We were lucky enough to happen upon all pieces in one home. This unit had one owner for over half-a-century until now. A true time capsule piece.
