Description
Time capsule quality vintage 1970s Lucite sofa by Richard Scott Furniture Inc. of Miami. The sofa is special for many reasons. First, it’s a sleeper! Secondly, it’s a sectional! The two-piece sectional features a pull-out bed inside both sides. Casters make it easy to roll the sofa into arrangement you desire. Split the sofa to use as two love seats and two individual beds OR join them to form one large bed or single sofa. No expense was spared in crafting this sofa with substantial two inch thick Lucite panels. Rarely do we find all original sofas in this condition. The neutral color fabric has been steam cleaned and the acrylic panels were removed buffed giving them a crystal clear sparkle.
Lucite is a high quality, trademarked version of acrylic resin developed by DuPont in 1937. Lucite is an acrylic plastic resin used primarily in windows and fashionable interior and furniture design due to its strength, crystal transparency, and flexibility along with its resistance to UV rays, wind, and water. Lucite is incredibly flexible for a material with its strength, making it perfectly apt for use in modern furniture making.
