Description
Every once in a while we get a piece that simply floors us. This is one of them. You’ve seen starburst pendant lamps before. I’m guessing that they’ve all been brass or chrome. Maybe you’ve seen the whimsical sunburst bulbs like the this lamp. I can bet money that you’ve probably never seen a vintage starburst lamp like this before. We sure haven’t! This ceiling light is spectacular by every measure and will make any mid-century modern collector drool. The body and spires are made of steel with a machine-like finish and fittings. The hardware itself has a very industrial look. What makes this lamp extra special are the green, blue, yellow, and red ceramic balls positioned at the ends of the spires. This gives the atomic age pendant light a truly scientific look! If you’ve taken chemistry in high school or college, you can’t help but to notice that this resembles a molecular model. I really cannot say it enough, this lamp is truly marvelous! It has been rewired. Simply plug in the lamp to any socket. However, with some skill or the help of an electrician, you can wire it to a switch.
