Description
Design aficionados will spot the Italian modern pedigree of this dining table from a mile away. Everyone else will just recognize that it’s dripping with cool. This burl birds eye maple and rosewood beauty was designed by Oscar DellArredamento for Miniforms of Italy. The decorative geometric inlays give this piece a contemporary modern flare that makes it difficult for onlookers to date. The true date however is 1974, smack dab in the middle of arguably the greatest era of modern interior creations. The thick tubular black legs not only give this Italian modern table great stability, but they easily screw on and off.
Dining table top is beveled underneath at a 45 degree angle all the way around. Oscar DellArredamento table includes one removable leaf that allows this table to extend from 73 5/8″ to 93.25″.
To preserve the burl veneer and match the ultra high gloss finish, our cabinet shop did a 2-part clear resin coat over the entire top surface and leaf. This new finish is virtually impenetrable and literally hard as nails. Rippled imperfections did however occur in the new resin pour. The original flat black finish on the legs was also matched with a fresh new coat and looks like-new.
