Description
Pair of restored, vintage flat bar chrome lounge chairs designed by Milo Baughman for Thayer Coggin. These lounge chairs have recently been updated with period appropriate grey tweed wool fabric. The texture and tone plays beautifully against the chrome frame. The original Thayer Coggin tags were preserved, and sewn into the seats. The chairs have a sleek pitched back gangster lean that cradles you into a comfy nook. Upholstered arm rests add even more comfort without giving the chair a bulky overstuffed look. Two metal clips on each chair hold in the otherwise loose seat cushions.
28.5” Wide x 30.5” Deep x 28.5” High (17.25” seat height)
Condition: Reupholstered. Wear consistent with age and use. Chrome frame has very minor imperfections. Newer tweed fabric upholstery. Chrome has been polished. Fabric has just been professionally steam cleaned.
951 Design Classic Chair:
Originally designed in 1966, the 951 lounge chair is Milo Baughman’s most recognizable chair design. This influential and iconic chair with its slim, steel frame is a striking mix of modern style and alluring comfort. The 951’s upholstered seat and back are topped with thick down-wrapped cushions and set at an ideal angle for repose. Its geometric, flat bar steel frame with upholstery wrapped arm rests supports an upholstery frame that appears to float on air and creates eye-catching silhouettes from every angle. It may sound cliché to say this chair has a timeless look, but the elegant angled architectural frames exude a distinguished simplicity that looks as new and exciting today as it did 50 years ago.
