Handsome pair of Machine Age chrome lounge chairs. Vintage 1940s. Exhibiting a look made famous by K.E.M Weber. Broad curvilinear legs mimic the profile of cars of the same era. Informed by the fanciful lines of Art Deco, but tamed by the burgeoning Modern movement. Tubular chrome steel frame. Solid wood arm rests are a luxurious upgrade from the typical black plastic found on similar pieces. Originally from Children??s Medical Center in Dallas. Chairs have been restored with new beige tweed style upholstery and refinished wood arms. Chrome has been hand polished. Matching unrestored loveseat is available (sold separately).
