Rare complete pair of Pereiras of Portugal ceramic elephants. The pure white ceramic is stunning. No surprise, as Portugal is known for its mastery of the medium. This original pair is stamped beneath. Each elephant has Pereiras’ insignia and marked 1, and 2, respectively. These elephants are seldom found as a complete pair! The tusks are independently cast and attached. The elephants are beautifully modeled with a natural grace to their anatomy and stance. The craftsmanship is exquisite. One elephant is larger than the other.
