Description
We can neither confirm nor deny that these Paul Boulva Suspension Chairs have seen screen time on Start Trek: The Next Generation, but the teal color resemblance to the Ten Forward chairs is uncanny. The iconic show aired during the 1987-1994 (Nineteen-Laties). The illusiveness of this line makes their discovery all the more exciting when considering the exceptional condition. We’re certain you won’t find a more sublime representation of these chairs and end table anywhere.
Clearly inspired by (and often mistaken for) the Etcetera chair by Jan Ekselius. Created by Canadian Designer Paul Boulva for Artopex in the mid-80’s, the avant-garde, free-flowing, post-modern design couldn’t be more suitable for the set of Start Trek: The Next Generation. Elegant futuristic curves with no hard lines.
This set includes two chair modules with arms (one with a single left arm, the other with a single right arm) and one cocktail / side table. All pieces are covered in their original teal colored commercial grade upholstery with black vinyl trim on the back of the base. The corner table’s top surface is covered in the same high quality black vinyl. Take a look from the side and you’ll see the unique simplified ribbon shape. The back flows seamlessly to create the seat of the chairs. Both chairs and actually be placed side to side to create a small sofa settee.
The chairs have been professionally steam cleaned and meticulously detailed. Our staff sheared the entire set to “de-pill” lint. The black vinyl at the base was cleaned, re-blacked and conditioned. The corner table has new high quality pebbled black vinyl closely resembling true leather. Virtually no fading or discoloring with only very minor discernible wear.
