Imagine yourself reclining in this Mid-Century Modern darling while watching your favorite Hitchcock movies. This is atomic age seating with comfort. No hard edges like European style sofas. Solid and sturdy construction. Replete with button tufting, this new bold new fabric adds a designer’s sensibility to an MCM classic. The soft (semi-plush) material is faux fur that looks like a hybrid of peacock and alligator. A blend of black, white and gray tones gracefully coalesce to create the soft scales of the animal-esque pattern.
The walnut base was completely disassembled so our cabinet shop could re-glue and clamp all of the doweled joints. Finally, we cleaned and detailed the base so it’s ready for many more rocking decades.
