Furnish Me Vintage is pleased to present this stunning heirloom quality mid century modern Danish teak desk by Peter Lovig. The piece is stamped below with the maker’s mark. The outstanding design features many unique elements that join to form one of the finest desks we’ve come across. The boomerang shaped design is practical is it is beautiful with the projecting end providing more table top surface and housing a column of drawers. The front side is a mixture of business and pleasure with a locking mirrored back bar compartment at left and an open bookcase at right. Open the locking bar to reveal to see the snazzy mirror emblazoned with a novel geometric pattern. Even the legs were designed to dazzle. The U-shaped teak legs are further supported by elegantly sculpted spanners capped with brass at the base. There is no part of this desk that was not carefully crafted. It is a sight to behold from all angles. From the top you will see the subtle ridge along the back and side edges, from the bottom you’ll enjoy the graceful leg structure and from the sides you will see stately architectural profiles. This piece was restored by our team of professionals whom refinished the worn top surface and disassembled and reset the leg joints to make the desk sturdy.
