Charming mid-century modern spaghetti Lucite globe floor lamp. This retro magazine rack floor lamp is oozing atomic age charm! The pendulous globe hangs over a faux wood laminate table top surface suspended from a long, sculpted, arced walnut stem. The most spectacular aspect of this piece is the solid walnut rib cage style storage rack underneath the tabletop. This ultra practical retro lamp is a funky mid-mod dream.
The Restoration:
Our team was charmed by this oddly beautiful floor lamp. It was the first time one of these got into our hands and I doubt we’ll see another one soon. We preserved the original wire that runs down the spine of the stem because it was still in very good shape, but we did replace the bulb socket and plug head. The pull string and ball are original. The walnut was oiled and the table top surface was detailed and tightened. Minor imperfections on the plinth base were repaired and touched-up. Restored to excellent overall condition.
