Description
Restored vintage Eames lounge chair with ottoman by Herman Miller. Charles Eames’ chair is perhaps the most iconic piece to come from an American 20th Century designer. Eames first debuted his legendary chair in 1956. The chair has been in production ever since, a testament to the significance of the groundbreaking design. It is said that Eames was inspired by the a baseball glove. He wanted the chair to have “the warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman’s mitt.”
This chair is available new today in many wood finished. However rosewood is no longer offered on new chairs produced by Herman Miller. The luxury exotic wood is now a protected species. Vintage is the only way to go if you want the prized rosewood version of this chair. Our restoration team worked their magic on this chair so that it is as close to new as you can get. The chair features all new black leather upholstery. The rosewood shells have all been refinished. Chrome has been polished, feet glides are all new, plastic panels beneath the cushions are new. The black areas on the bases have new paint.
