Description
Original signed oil painting by Milford, Pennsylvania artist Joseph Splendora. Dubbed by the artist “Splendorascapes” the poetic compositions inspired by nature read as amplified renditions of the Impressionist style. This particular composition looks to be a thick, moody forest with hints of moonlight peaking through. Splendora’s paintings took a dark turn after his son’s death in the 1970s. It seems this brooding depiction of his bucolic surroundings may have been created during this period. Splendora was a prolific artist whom created numerous works spanning many decades until his death in 1996. We also have another of his paintings (sold separately).
