This dazzling Svend Aage Madsen teak executive desk appears to float in mid-air. Dark, tawny, solid teak legs suspend the cabinet with architectural precision. When combined with the curved, “danish bow” top and raised edge, the overall look is sublime and timeless. Appreciated for it’s practicality and adored for it’s design, this is truly a flagship of mid-century modernism. Expert craftsmanship is evidenced in the sculpted, solid teak handles, floating top and exquisite teak wood species. The matched pattern, fiery grain on the drawers is a demonstration of disciplined Scandinavian cabinet making. The front side features bookcase storage with an adjustable / removable shelf. Ideal for decorative display. To the left of the bookcase is a hinged door-front cabinet space with additional lock and key.
Teak desk made by H.P. Hansen circa 1960. H.P. Hansen worked with a variety of Danish designers and manufacturers to import and wholesale Danish design in the 1950s and 1960s. This desk was designed by Svend Aage Madsen.
