Incredibly true-to-life replica Harley Davidson motorcycle made of wicker. Designed by Tom Dixon for Habitat, the sculpture is crafted from wicker, rattan, and bamboo. The mechanics are true to spec with the twin V engines at center. There’s even a woven satchel on the side of the motorcycle. The sculpture is nearly life size and stands freely on its own. This is intended for decorative use. It is not meant to be ridden or sat-upon. Dixon is an motorcycle enthusiast… here he has captured his muse for all to enjoy. This is a vintage piece dating from the 1980s.
Tom Dixon is a celebrated designer from the United Kingdom. Dixon served as the artistic director of Habitat from 1998 to 2008. Dixon went on to create his own eponymous design firm, “Tom Dixon.” Dixon is still living and continues to produce captivating work. His creations can be found in esteemed collections including London’s Victoria and Albert Museum, The Museum of Modern art in New York and Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris.
