Description
100% Original vintage 1970s rosewood Eames lounge chair, right down to the base glides. Born on Oct 17, 1977, this pair has remained in its original glory for 45 years. This classic Eames recliner is available today in many wood finishes, however rosewood is no longer offered on new chairs produced by Herman Miller. The luxury exotic wood is now a protected species. Vintage is the only way to go if you want the prized rosewood version of this chair. Not only is this stunning specimen of Mid-Century Modern history in beautiful condition, but the rosewood shells with black leather is the holy grail combination. Originally debuting in the 1940s, the Eames lounge chair and it’s steadfast companion ottoman have become timeless icons.
Our restoration team worked their magic on this chair. The perfectly, buttery leather has been cleaned and conditioned. The rosewood shells had a few, light surface scratches that our team mitigated using our proprietary methods. Virtually every visible area of rosewood is free of scratches imperfections. We followed up with two coats of hand buffed oil finish. Lastly, the chrome was polished and black areas on the bases have new paint.
We’re certainly you won’t find a more stunning vintage original anywhere.
