Description
Mid-Century walnut brass credenza sideboard by White Fine Furniture Company, circa 1968 from their Cosmopolitan line. Made of solid walnut wood with a fly speck finish. We lovingly and respectfully refer to this more traditional style as mid-century modest. Stately, modern-like straight lines intersect with arches, inlays, contrasting wood tones and grain to create this handsome cabinet. The fit, finish and overall quality of both materials and construction on this piece is remarkable. The top is as straight as an arrow and we can’t imagine this piece bowing or losing rigidity for centuries to come. It’s corny and cliche to say that “they don’t make ’em like this anymore”, but they don’t.
This walnut brass credenza was sold new and purchased in 1968 from the same building that our furniture store (Furnish Me Vintage) now resides in. That’s right, we have the original sales receipt from Standard Furniture to document this fact. Not only that, but we purchased this server from those very same original owners. Matching dining chairs, sideboard and dining table sold separately.
The overall condition of this piece is excellent with only a few small imperfections on the top. Professionally detailed top to bottom.
