Warren Platner for Knoll (attributed) 54″ round glass dining table. The sculptural steel base has that classic Platner silhouette—an elegant flare at the top and bottom formed by dozens of vertical rods—but what makes this example stand out is its black satin finish, which is not a standard Knoll offering. In fact, when you look closely at small scratches, you can see the shiny metal beneath, suggesting the original owner had the base professionally painted at some point. The table’s quality is consistent with the Knoll collection, and the overall presence is unmistakably in line with Platner’s vision of merging modernism with a touch of ornament. While the attribution cannot be confirmed, the design, construction, and proportions strongly echo the iconic pieces introduced in 1966, making this a striking and distinctive example for anyone who appreciates mid‑century design.
We are including a brand new 54″ round glass top with the purchase of this table. The glass top and base will be shipped separately. We will ship the base. The glass top will be shipped directly from the supplier.
