Description
Vintage 1950s “Sculptured Pine” dresser by Franklin Shockey. Lovely blend of Mid Century Modern, Atomic Age design blended with rustic Adirondack look. It’s like a mix of Lincoln Logs and Danish Modern. This solid pine piece has been completely refinished, even the original metal pulls have been polished. Absolutely no particle board.. it’s as if this dresser was carved from a tree. We have a matching high boy and nightstands available.
Originally the Franklin Shockey Co. was an investment firm located in New York. In 1940 Franklin Shockey and his business partner, George Ennis, came south to purchase plywood for a small wooden item Mr.Shockey had invented. Though Mr.Shockey was successful in the furniture business he still remained very active with his investment company in New York.
