Willy Daro Style Bronze Tree Gueridon Side Table

Out of stock

Description

Reminiscent of work by Belgian studio artist, Willy Daro, this gueridon stands as a remarkable specimen of furniture design. The bronze faux bois table is unmarked, but likely of French origin. The beauty of this table lies in it’s humanist essence. The textured organic forms appear natural, not contrived, as if a sapling were petrified and put to use. Detailed bronze envelopes the table top glass at top with seamless junctions meeting the branches that support the table. Place this table beside an occasional chair in your great room, bedroom, or study. The Daro inspired table is a work of art all to it’s own. Gueridons were first made in 17th century France, and they had intricate, columns, mythological, human figures and decorative forms for legs. These columns were usually carved with figures inspired by ancient Egyptian, Roman, and Greek culture. While gueridons are usually ornate and decorative, their simple purpose was to hold a small object, like a vase or sculpture.
