Stunningly realistic vintage German Shepherd sculpture made in Italy. This exceptionally well crafted dog is rendered in terra cotta with a beautiful hand-painted and glazed finish. The radiant dog flashes a friendly grin with his tongue dangling. It’s as if he’s sitting there waiting to be pet of fed. His fur, facial features, paws, and body virtually come to life with the masterful painting. The piece captures all the brilliance of fine Italian craftsmanship. The the sculpture is 26.5 inches tall… a little more than the life-size withers height of a typical German Shepherd. The sculpture is finished in the round. It would like perfect seated on the floor or atop a counter or pedestal. A “Made in Italy” stamp in carved into the clay inside the cavity of the dog.
